GET TOGETHER – HEALING IN HIS GLORY
Jas 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.(NKJV)
One day recently the enemy attacked by body by making me sick at my stomach. I went home that day and laid down. I had several people pray for me. While I was laying down, I began to play worship music. One of the songs that I played was There Is Healing In His Glory by Lindell Cooley. Then I played several others and I just laid on the couch and read. And yes, I did take some over the counter medicine that I had bought during the afternoon.
When J.J. got home she made some chicken noodle soup. I was able to eat a little of the soup. By the next morning I was at the Huddle House and had an omelet with grits.
The first healing that J.J. and I ever got was from a stomach virus at Christmas one year. We had been throwing up all night and after we prayed, we were eating Christmas Dinner at her mom’s house.
I believe that one reason that the Lord has had me to write this is to restir in God’s people the gift of faith, and the gifts of healings in those who have it 1Co 12:9 “to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit.” And for every believer to know that we can do as James said in our opening passage and in faith believe for healing. I praise God for the saints who pray for us and that their prayers are effective! I praise God for those that prayed for me the other day and their prayers were effective! Most of all I praise God for the one who took our sickness to the cross at Calvary 1Pe 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed . (NKJV)
This post isn’t about answering why some people who have a lot of faith their healing comes in going to be with the Lord. I am thankful that when my final healing comes that is where I will be, but until that day I am so thankful that we can contend in prayer and that God will bring healing and cancel the assignments that the enemy has on our lives! Keep praying! Keep believing! Don’t let anybody talk you out of it. And give God the glory!
One more thing that I want to reemphasize I believe that Jesus wants to use His people to do what he did while He was on the earth “Ac 10:38 “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” He has given us the Holy Spirit. We have an anointing 1Jo 2:20 ¶ But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. He has given us the power of the Holy Spirit. We have the same Holy Spirit that he operated in and that He endued the disciples with Lu 24:49 “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” So, today go do good. Pray for the sick and expect God to heal them. May the Lord use this to encourage you and to bring Him glory!

Jesus, we thank You for paying the price for our healing. we thank You that by Your stripes we were healed. we thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to help us to walk in healing and to pray for others to be healed.
