GET TOGETHER – GO TELL SOMEBODY
Ro 1:16,17 ¶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” (NKJV
Recently I became aware of a little girl who told another little girl that she didn’t like Easter. The other little girl then told her that Easter was about Jesus coming out of the tomb. The first little girl said that she now liked Easter. Wow! What did Jesus say to the chief priests and scribed who were upset because the children were praising Him? Mt 21:15,16 But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant and said to Him, “Do You hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise’?”
This Sunday we will celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in a very special way. This week is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to share the Good News of the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with those that we meet in the highways and byways.
I just left a store and the clerk told me to have a Happy Easter. The Lord then let me share with her that it was the day that we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. I then told her that Jesus loved her.
We live in a world that is producing a lot of bad news. But we have the Good News! The Apostle Paul was not ashamed of the Gospel. He lived in a culture that it certainly wasn’t popular to share the Good News. As a matter of fact, he would be beaten, stoned, run out of towns, and eventually beheaded for sharing the Good News.
Paul in the above passage tells us that it is the power of God for everyone who believes. Think about this that the same power of God that brought Jesus out of that tomb on that Sunday morningis there to bring us to the cross of Calvary. It is there to help us to live the resurrected life. It is there to help us to like the little girl that I mentioned share the Good News with others.
There is no better time than now for us not to be ashamed of the Gospel and be willing to share it with others. Between now and Sunday pray for and ask the Holy Spirit to give you the opportunities and the courage to share the Good News of the death and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There has never been a more important time in the history of humanity than right now. When you do there may just be someone that you hear say I don’t hate Easter anymore. And their life would be changed forever.
Let Us Pray
Lord Jesus gives us that childlike faith and courage to share what Your resurrection from the dead means to a lost and hurting world. Take away all fear of man from us. Help us be able to say like the Apostle Paul “I am not ashamed of the Gospel for it is the power of God unto salvation.” For when we do we know that there are eternal ramifications for those who hear it and eternal rewards for those who share it.
In Jesus Name
Amen
Have a Great Resurrection Sunday!
