GET TOGETHER- Plundering Egypt
Ex 12:35,36 Now the children of Israel had done according to the word of Moses, and they had asked from the Egyptians articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing. And the LORD had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they requested. Thus they plundered the Egyptians.
The children of Israel had been in bondage in Egypt for over 430 years. On the night of the Passover the death angel took out the first born of Egypt. When the Blood had been applied over the houses of the children of Israel the death angel passed over.
The Israelites were now ready to leave Egypt and their years of slavery and bondage to the Egyptians behind them. They were going on a journey to a new land flowing with milk and honey. While on this journey they would be told to build a Tabernacle. God promised to meet them at this Tabernacle. You might wonder where they got the resources to build this Moveable Tabernacle. We see in the above passage that the Egyptians were so glad to see them go that they poured out lots and lots of material things to the Israelites. God redeemed their time in Egypt as He moved upon the Egyptians to grant the Israelites request.
That prompts me to think about and be thankful about how that God redeems our time when we were in spiritual Egypt. We all were born sinners Ro 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” And for those of us who have repented of our sins and put our faith in the shed Blood of Jesus Christ He has redeemed our lives. Ro 5:9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
So now we are ready to do some plundering ourselves. Some of us may have been in bondage to drugs, or some other substance. When we testify of how that the Lord has delivered us He uses us to plunder spiritual Egypt as others hear our testimony and give their lives to Christ.
We plunder spiritual Egypt when there is something that might have been a failure in our lives in the past and God gives us success in that area now. The purpose for God plundering spiritual Egypt and blessing us is so that He can use us to help others to live in the Promised Land, both now and forever.
He is a God that redeems and restores it all. One of my favorite passages about how God redeems is found in the following passage :
Joe 2:25-29 “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.
You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame.
Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the LORD your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame. ¶ “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.
Today if Satan has you bound in Egypt the Lord Jesus Christ is ready to set you free and bring you out of that demonic bondage. If you have been saved trust Him to redeem every part of your life and to give back seven times what the enemy has stolen from you. He can and will do it!
Let us Pray
Lord Jesus, we thank You that through You the enemy’s house can be plundered and that you will give us back all that He has stolen from us. May all that read this be surrendered to you and see you give back all that the enemy has stolen.
In Jesus Name
Amen
Love You All
